This site is for non-commercial education. Several data owners require permission for commercial use, so if you want to use it commercially they must be asked first.
Data sets
- Arteries and deep veins: TopBrain attribution, no commercial use without permission
- TopBrain data release (University Hospital Zurich; TopCoW and TopBrain challenges), case
topcow_mr_025(MR and CT angiography with vessel labels). Open use with attribution; commercial use needs the permission of the data owner. Full terms are in the license file of the data package.

Brain template and atlases
The template and atlases were read from the files shipped with the atlasreader Python package. Each atlas keeps its own license and terms, which are set by its authors and not by this site. They are used here for non-commercial education only. Check the original terms before any other use.

Teaching references
The stroke findings list is a short summary after standard stroke syndrome teaching, for example Bamford et al., Lancet 1991 (Oxfordshire Community Stroke Project); Brazis, Masdeu and Biller, Localization in Clinical Neurology; Caplan, Stroke: A Clinical Approach. Real findings vary with collaterals, the exact site, blood pressure and time to treatment.
Schematic parts
The vessel graph inside each supply territory, the optic radiation fibres (streamlines through a probability map) and the C-arm drawing are made for this site. Optic nerves, optic tracts, eyes, pituitary, the transverse and sigmoid sinuses, the jugular veins and the generated cortical branches are not taken from any of these data sets. They are schematic.
